Italian artist Paolo Ventura uses dolls and mixed media to evoke the life and psychological horrors of war. It's sort of Michel Gondry meets Wes Anderson meets Marcel Dzama. These are from his 2005 War Souvenir series.

So sad. War, war and stupid war.
Yes, I blogged about this artist in the past as well. He's very intense, yet whimsical as well. Very different, thought-provoking work.
Extremely thought provoking works. Amazing detail.

It's like you get so used to seeing "History Channel" images of war all the time you become numb to the reality of what went on. Then you see it portrayed this way and it's actually requires the viewer to look closer and actually think about it.
Meets Sarah Anne Johnson, sort of.
Poverty tries friends..................................................................
these images remind of of the terrible things people can do... an amazing work of art!
This reminds me of the movie Marwencol - about the work of Mark Hogencamp
