Poetry Everywhere | Tony Kushner Reads Whitman

In celebration of National Poetry Month in April, PBS plans to sprinkle 32 short poetry films (like this one of Tony Kushner reading Whitman’s “Passage to India” from Leaves of Grass) throughout its April broadcast schedule. If your heart cries out for less random poetic treats with Garrison Keillor intros, there’s always the new iPhone app and YouTube.

你可以從外表的美來評論一朵花或一隻蝴蝶,但你不能這樣來評論一個人........................................

Genius! A minor Noo Yawk playwright reciting third-rate poetry on camera. Why didn't I think of that?

Not sure if you're a die hard Whitman fan, but there's a library here in Providence (actually if you don't love Whitman you will PASS OUT over this library) that has one of the two "Leaves" copies hand copywrited by Whitman himself!
