Monsoon Season | The Aigle Ecuyer Slush

An equally English (by way of the French), yet non-Wellie solution for the Amazonian weather systems on the Eastern seaboard: Aigle rubber riding boots.  Handcrafted in France since 1973, they're fully waterproof, really, really look as leathery as rubber can and will cost you $195.  Pricey, but when it rains everyday...

(Francesco Maglia umbrellas - like my new brown and yellow striped one from Rain or Shine on 45th Street - are quite nice, too)

These are my favorites, I have - don't snicker - a pair of J. Crew Wellies that I also love on the farm, and of course Hunters still top those but these boots are both functional and stylish - something we horse people are not really known for...

I can only imagine what one's feet might look like after a few hours tightly encased in these things - you'd probably have to cut your socks off!

i have a pair of aigle parcours, which are by far the most comfortable rain boots that i own. these are beautiful, though.

That umbrella looks like it was made of silk tie fabric!

I have the shoes, and I love them.

Mrs. B - it's some rain-friendly synthetic of sorts, but it really, really does look like tie fabric!

DEAR H H

The boots are perfection.
Their proportions and the silhouette are superb.

They are the real thing--authoritative/

They have integrity and they look as if they would last a lifetime. Cheers, www.thestylesaloniste.com

HH,

Are the boots in the photo the Ecuyer or Jumping model?
