Day Trippin': The Princes' Islands

We're T-minus eight days from Turkey takeoff and haven't even begun to really plan.  However, we know that on one of the days we'll be jumping onto a very frigid hour-long ferry ride to the Princes' Islands -- a polyglot paradise where the sultan's crew sent their spurned lovers to exile and no one drives cars.  It's like the sexiest looking-version of Amish country -- which is completely wrong to say -- but completely right for a day trip.

Don't go on Saturday or Sundays. The ferry will be full of noisy riffraff (mostly Kurds) going to picnic en masse on the islands.

What will you wear for a day trip on the Princes' Islands?!?

I'de suggest something as inconspicuous as possible. Don't forget, it may be the Princes' Islands, but it's still the Middle East and foreigners--in particular Yanks-- are not popular there.

As far as our gear -- Port will be mostly wearing architecture-inspired tailored frocks, while I'll likely be in skit suits (long skirts) with belts...and hopefully a hat! I may bring some linen for effect in photos despite how unseasonal it will be in real life.
